British born and Hong Kong based designer Michael Young has a pioneering passion for technology, and continually crosses borders and pushes innovations to its very limits. His design career kick-started in Iceland, where he concentrated on mass-production and learning about the industry. Since then he has bounced across the globe creating award-winning designs and collaborating with countless manufacturers. His early Woven steel works were acquired by public institutions such as Centre Pompidou and the Louvre, and he has received various international design awards such as the Red Dot Product Design Award in 2010 for his Young w094 desk lamp.
